Query to Film Agents & Producers

I write award winning true game warden adventure stories. Since 1984, I’ve written over 130 of them, all of which have been published in books and magazines. Having been a California game warden for over 30 intense years, I write with the authority only possible for one who has been there and done it all.

The WARDEN FORCE series is a collection of short stories, all true, are the fascinating and often harrowing experiences of real game wardens pursuing armed violators in wild and remote places. TV shows such as JOE PICKETT (Spectrum/Paramount+), WILD JUSTICE (National Geographic), NORTH WOODS LAW (Animal Planet) and LONE STAR LAW (Animal Planet) introduced the public to the real-life adventures of game wardens and conservation officers, a public hungry for more. And now, for readers, the WARDEN FORCE series provides the most exhaustive and comprehensive work in literature on this little known and often dangerous profession.

Award winning author Terry Hodges was himself a California State Fish and Game warden and supervisor/leader of game wardens for over 30 intense years. He writes with the authority possible only by those who have actually lived the life, who have actually packed a badge and a gun on behalf of wildlife and battled all manner of wildlife-destroying outlaws.

My stories, unlike the often mundane episodes presented in reality shows, episodes based on routine, ride-along days with game wardens, present only the most interesting and exciting cases experienced by the best game wardens in the world, their finest hours so to speak.

To date, there has never been a dramatization of these stories or any stories like them, and each of my 130 stories could be readily adapted into a compelling episode for a TV series. I am therefore seeking an agent or production company to further explore these possibilities.

For a taste of my WARDEN FORCE stories and a feel for the potential of this project, kindly complete the request form and I'll send you a few of the true stories to read.

Best regards,

Lt. Terry Hodges
